The unemployment in Bulgaria remains unchanged on monthly basis in November 2017. The level of unemployment remains at 6.2% for the third consecutive month. This is the latest Eurostat seasonally adjusted data released today. On an annual basis, there is still a significant decrease, as during the same period last year 6.8% of the working population in the country was unemployed.
The unemployed in Bulgaria in November 2017 were total 210,000, according to data from the European statistics.
The level of youth unemployment in the country continues to decline steadily, although it remains high. In November it reached 12.6%, compared to four months ago – in August, when it was more than 1 percentage point higher.
On an annual basis however, there was a remarkable decrease, which was 15.8% in November 2016, or by more than 3 percentage points higher. A total of 24,000 young people under 25 years of age were unemployed in November.
In Bulgaria, the unemployment rate measures the number of people actively looking for a job as a percentage of the labor force.
